Mikel Arteta Concedes Future Tenure Is Tied to Securing Trophies.

As he approaches his half-decade plus one year at the helm, Mikel Arteta has admitted that his continued role with the club is directly connected to delivering trophies.

The Journey So Far: The Arteta Era

Arteta assumed control on the 20th of December in 2019 and soon guided the team to an cup win within months. But, that early success is still his lone significant piece of silverware following the departure of Unai Emery.

“Absolutely,” he stated in response to a query about his future past 2027. “However, it is about today. And numerous factors have to happen in the coming months as well to deserve that opportunity.”

This weekend sees the landmark with a game facing Everton, the identical team Arsenal played the day after his role was made public.

The Current Landscape

He pointed to the record-breaking achievements as evidence of progress. “You look at the performances, all the records that we... were breaking... We still haven't been able to do that [win trophies]. But that indicates the level we are at.”

Arteta concluded, “That is a level that the Premier League has not seen before in the past. And our aim is to achieve greater objectives. And if we do that, I think we are on the proper course to winning.”
